SUPER-RAIL® ECO is VR’s answer to the rising demand for lightweight vehicle restraint systems with a high containment capacity. So far, three versions of this new member of the SUPER-RAIL® family have been introduced: SUPER-RAIL® ECO standard (37 kg/m), SUPER-RAIL® ECO double-sided (abbr.: DS) (50 kg/m) and SUPER-RAIL® ECO on structures (abbr.: OS) (46 kg/m).

The System:
SUPER-RAIL® ECO is based on the popular SUPERRAIL® system. However, SUPER-RAIL® ECO has been designed without a lower box beam, while the guard rail profiles are directly connected to the C 125-posts by newly developed deformation elements. Therefore, the system width is reduced to 0.45 m and the system weight nearly halved from 72 kg/m to 37 kg/m.
SUPER-RAIL® ECO has been tested with a post distance of 2.0 m.

Places of Installation:
SUPER-RAIL® ECO is successfully tested acc. to the European Standard EN 1317, achieving a containment level of H2, a working width of 1.3 m (W4) and an impact severity level (ASI) of B in its standard version.
