Already in 1992 several crash tests (TB 21 & TB 22) according to EN 1317-2 were carried out on the system MINI-GUARD® by the 'BASt'.
In 2001 MINI-GUARD® successfully passed the crash test TB 41.

During the impact the system is stabilised by the weight of the vehicle (viable foot section). Therefore a turnover of either the system or the vehicle is nearly impossible.

The impacting vehicles are smoothly redirected by MINI-GUARD®.
The acceleration values for the occupants are extremely low.

During the crash test TB 21 the system only showed a lateral deflection of 0.47 ms after the impact. No major damages could be determined, neither to the system nor to the car.
